S.S.C. Napoli is a football club based in Naples, Italy, founded in 1904. Its first president was Giorgio Ascarelli. The club’s home stadium is the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, and its current head coach is Antonio Conte.

Team History
The first documented match in the team’s history was a 3-2 victory over the crew of the Arabic ship at Stadio del Bagno. In 1947, the club was renamed AC Napoli, but a year later, it was relegated due to ""match-fixing."" In 1960, Venancio transferred to Bologna, and the following year, Napoli was relegated to Serie B. On June 25, 1964, the club was officially renamed Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli. In June 1984, Napoli signed the Argentine football legend from Barcelona. In the 1986/87 season, Napoli won the Serie A title, finishing 3 points ahead of the second-place team.

Nowadays
In 2004, Napoli declared bankruptcy, and just six days later, film producer Aurelio De Laurentiis decided to acquire the club. In the 2017/18 season, Napoli started Serie A with an eight-match winning streak and remained at the top of the standings for a long time, eventually finishing as runners-up with 91 points—4 points behind Juventus—becoming the first runner-up in Serie A history to exceed 90 points. In June 2023, Rudi Garcia officially succeeded Luciano Spalletti as Napoli’s head coach. In January 2024, Napoli signed Pasquale Mazzocchi and Ngongo. In the Italian Super Cup, Napoli lost 0-1 to Inter Milan in the final, missing out on the title.
In March 2025, UEFA announced the 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League prize money earnings, with Napoli ranking 10th with €70 million. On May 24, in the final round of Serie A, Napoli defeated Cagliari 2-0 at home to win the league title.
