About The European Union League (UECL)
The European Union League (UECL), commonly referred to as the League of Nations, is an annual football competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for eligible European football clubs since 2021. It is a third tier competition of European club football, ranking lower than the second tier Europa League and the first tier Champions League.

League History
The competition was initially intended as a lower tier competition in the European league. Teams from lower ranked UEFA member associations mainly participate in the competition. Starting from the 2024-25 season, the competition will be renamed as the UEFA League, and the group stage will be replaced by an expanded league stage, with a total of 36 teams participating. No team directly qualifies for the league stage: on the contrary, teams eliminated in the Europa League playoffs qualify, while the rest come from regional league qualifiers and playoffs.
The winners of the competition are eligible to participate in the next season's Europa League stage, unless they also qualify for the UEFA Champions League or Europa League through domestic league rankings.

League Winners
English clubs have the most victories (2 wins), followed by Italy and Greece (1 win each). Roma is the first champion of this competition, defeating Feyenoord 0-2022 in the 1-year final.
As of 2025, the current champion is Chelsea, who defeated Real Betis 4-1 in the final. "
