About PSV Eindhoven
PSV Eindhoven (Dutch: Eindhovense Voetbalvereniging PSV) is a professional football club based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, competing in the Eredivisie. The club plays its home matches at the Philips Stadion.

Club History
In 1910, a group of Philips employees founded the club's predecessor, the "Philips' Eleven" football team. In 1916, the team was renamed PSV Eindhoven (commonly referred to as "PSV"). PSV was promoted to the then top-tier Dutch football league for the first time in 1918 and claimed its first top-flight league title in 1929. Dutch football became professional in 1955, and PSV won its first Eredivisie title after professionalization during the 1962-63 season.
However, the club's performance was mediocre in other seasons from the 1960s to the early 1970s, failing to secure another league title. In the 1974-75 season, PSV lifted the Eredivisie trophy again after a 12-year gap. The 1977-78 season marked the club's first European trophy, as they won the UEFA Cup. From the 1985-86 season to the 1988-89 season, PSV achieved four consecutive Eredivisie titles, during which they also claimed the European Cup in the 1987-88 season.

Current Situation
Between the 1999-00 season and the 2007-08 season, PSV won the Eredivisie seven times. In 2007, Chinese player Sun Xiang joined PSV on loan and made an appearance in the UEFA Champions League, becoming the first Chinese player to feature in the competition.
On 5 May 2024, in the 32nd round of the Eredivisie, PSV defeated Sparta Rotterdam to win the league title for the first time in six years. On 18 May 2025, in the 34th round of the Eredivisie, PSV defeated Sparta Rotterdam again to successfully defend their league championship.
