In Round 17 of the South American World Cup Qualifiers Group Stage, Argentina defeated Venezuela 3-0. After the match, Argentina national team player Lionel Messi shared his thoughts, stating that this would be his last home game for the Argentina national team.
Messi said, “There are so many emotions welling up inside me. I have experienced so many things on this pitch. Being able to play for our fans here in Argentina has always been a joy. Over the years, we have enjoyed every single game one after another. I am extremely happy to end my time here in this way—it has always been my dream.”
He continued, "I received so much love and care during my time at Barcelona, and my dream was to feel the same kind of love and care here (in Argentina) too. Today is my last game here competing for World Cup Qualifiers points. When I am in good form, I will enjoy the game to the fullest."
