In the 12th round of the Premier League, Manchester United hosted Everton at Old Trafford. Just 10 minutes into the game, Everton suffered a major blow as captain Seamus Coleman was forced off with an injury. A mere 3 minutes later, Everton staged an even more outrageous internal conflict.
Manchester United launched a counter-attack, and an Everton defensive mix-up gave Bruno Fernandes a shooting opportunity. Although Fernandes failed to score, Idrissa Gueye was furious about the mistake. He lashed out at Michael Keane, and the two got into a heated argument. The hot-tempered Gueye even raised his hand and slapped Keane across the face.
The referee immediately rushed over, showed Gueye a straight red card, and sent him off the pitch.
