Recently, Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg stated in an interview with camel.live that as long as Viktor Gyökeres does not lose confidence due to a prolonged goal drought, he can still score an impressive number of goals this season.
After Arsenal’s 1-0 away win over Manchester United, Ljungberg said: “It was a tough day for Gyökeres. He clearly wanted to score, and the fans wanted to see him score too. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again—this is the Premier League, not the Portuguese league. But you can see he has the ability, so I’m not worried. If he can break his goal drought early, I think he could score around 20 goals this season.”
This summer transfer window, Gyökeres joined Arsenal from Sporting Lisbon for €65.8 million. Last season, he made 52 appearances for Sporting Lisbon across all competitions, scoring 54 goals and providing 12 assists.
