Was Neuer Fouled for Arsenal’s First Goal? Kane: Yes, Many Decisions Didn’t Favor Bayern

In this round’s Champions League blockbuster, Arsenal defeated Bayern Munich 3-1 at home. After the match, Harry Kane accepted an interview with Camel Live and shared his views on relevant topics.

Why was it so hard to really threaten them today?

I think the first and second halves were completely different. In the first half, we played quite well, especially towards the end of it. We went into halftime with good momentum.

But in the second half, after we came back out, we couldn’t match the intensity and energy of the first half. We really lost too many duels in all areas of the pitch. Arsenal kept winning back possession and built up their own momentum.

Then obviously, we were punished for those two goals. So we definitely need to watch the game back and learn from it. After all, this is our first defeat of the season.

This isn’t a time to panic, but as you know, we’ll face these teams again, especially in the later stages of the Champions League next year, and we need to be fully prepared for that.

Peter Schmeichel and I think Neuer was fouled during Timber’s first goal. What’s your take?

Yes, I feel there were a lot of decisions throughout the game that didn’t go our way today. But that’s part of football, especially at this level in the Champions League. If it had been given, it would probably have been a foul, but for one reason or another, the referee didn’t blow his whistle. We have to move on. No excuses—we didn’t do enough today to get the result we wanted, and that’s really disappointing.

Your thoughts on Arsenal?

As I said in the pre-match press conference, I think Arsenal are a very strong team. I think they’re solid at both ends of the pitch and dangerous from set pieces. And when you combine all those strengths with the atmosphere at their Champions League home…

All we can do is keep working hard. For us, it’s still been a fantastic start to the season. Of course, it’s only November, and we haven’t won anything yet.

What about Karl’s performance—he scored again today?

Absolutely. He has to keep this up—he scored another really good goal. I think the whole team is helping him too.
