Barcelona midfielder Rodri gave an interview discussing the competition for this year's Ballon d'Or.

Who should win the Ballon d'Or?
Rodri: "I have always said that I play and compete to win trophies at a collective level. Individual awards do not depend on you, but on the decision of 100 journalists; beyond that, there is not much else to say.
The club chose Yamal because they believe he is the player who deserves this award the most, which is entirely reasonable.
I think this is one of the most open and suspenseful Ballon d'Or races in recent years, with a great number of players... well, how should I put it? Each having their own strengths or standout moments, all possessing the merits to win it, right?
Having said that, as for who I hope wins? I hope a Spanish player wins it. I already said so the other day. I believe Spanish football must once again be given the recognition it deserves, because winning the World Cup is the ultimate, incomparable glory.
Not only that, but also the manner in which it was won, right? I think that point is equally telling."
