Ferran Torres was a key part of Barcelona’s attacking setup last season, and despite summer links to the Saudi Pro League, both the player and Barça have made it clear they have no intention of pursuing an exit.
The 25-year-old is focused on thriving at Barça. Even with Marcus Rashford’s arrival likely to reduce his minutes, and rumors linking him to Al-Nassr (who were said to eye him after signing Iñigo Martínez), the Spanish forward has never wavered in his desire to stay. In coach Hansi Flick’s system, Torres’ versatility (capable of playing multiple attacking roles) and solid performances as Robert Lewandowski’s backup are highly valued—Barça are unwilling to weaken their attack by letting him go. With just over two weeks left in the transfer window, a move for Torres now looks highly unlikely.
Torres came off the bench in the Gamper Trophy win over Como. With Lewandowski sidelined by a left thigh bicep issue, he could start the league opener against Mallorca. Last season, Torres contributed 19 goals and 7 assists across competitions, and now he’s eager to grow further and cement his status as a key Barça player.
