Trent Alexander-Arnold will be shockingly left out of England's latest national team squad.
This is undoubtedly a blow for the right-back, who left Liverpool to join Real Madrid earlier this summer.
When announcing the squad for June's matches, Thomas Tuchel once warned Alexander-Arnold that he must take the "defensive side of the game very, very seriously".
Tuchel said: "I can see that he sometimes relies too much on his offensive contributions, while paying insufficient attention to defensive discipline and effort. He has made tremendous contributions to Liverpool over the years... If he wants to maintain such influence in the England national team, he must take defense very, very seriously.
Because when we talk about matches—especially in qualifiers and tournaments—a single defensive mistake, or a moment when you’re not fully alert, can decide the outcome of the game. That could be the moment you pack your bags and head home."
Back in June, Tuchel preferred to select Chelsea’s Reece James and Kyle Walker for the matches against Andorra and Senegal. However, Walker delivered an extremely poor performance against Senegal, which sparked questions about whether he should continue to be included in England’s squad.
Walker later transferred from Manchester City to Burnley. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, he expressed his desire to play four more games for England, in order to reach the milestone of 100 caps for the national team.
