Manchester United Posts Record £666.5m Revenue in FY2025; £36.6m Payout for Erik ten Hag's Sacking

According to Manchester United’s financial report released on September 17th, the club achieved a record-breaking £666.5 million in revenue for the 2025 fiscal year (FY2025), despite failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League last season.
Manchester United’s operating loss for the year stood at £18.4 million, a reduction from the £69.3 million loss recorded in FY2024.
Special charges totaling £36.6 million were incurred, primarily related to the departure of Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff.
Matchday revenue hit an all-time high (up 17%), with both ticket sales and membership numbers reaching their highest levels in the club’s history.
Commercial revenue also set a new record (up 10%), reflecting the impact of the first full fiscal year of the shirt front sponsorship deal with Qualcomm Snapdragon.
FY2026 Performance Guidance
Projected revenue: £640 million to £660 million
Adjusted EBITDA (core operating profit): £180 million to £200 million
