Manchester United forward Antony hopes to rejoin Real Betis in the new season, with the Brazilian striker also attempting to persuade the Red Devils to accept Betis' proposal to loan him for another year.
Despite significant challenges, Real Betis remains determined to include Antony in their squad for next season, and the player himself is eager to return to the club to play again. As long as a transfer is possible, the Brazilian will express his intention to join Betis to Manchester United. He has already informed United that he only wants to feature for Betis in next season's games and has no intention of joining other clubs at present; for this reason, he is persuading United to agree to his loan departure.
The biggest obstacle currently is that Manchester United wants to sell Antony outright this summer rather than loan him out again. Executives at Old Trafford hope to recoup some of the funds from the €95 million transfer fee they invested when signing him from Ajax in 2022.
However, Betis has stated that the club does not want to and cannot make significant investments, and is instead exploring other possibilities to sign him. For example, Betis may try to convince Manchester United that if Antony delivers stronger performances during his time at the club, his transfer value could be higher in another season, closer to the price United paid for him in 2022.
Several clubs have enquired about Antony's situation, but no firm offers have been made yet – it is understood that Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, and some top clubs in Saudi Arabia are all monitoring his situation. Additionally, if a Champions League club makes a formal offer for Antony, the Brazilian forward is willing to consider the possibility of joining, but until such an offer arrives, time is on Betis' side.
