Manchester United plans to reform their attacking line, with Zirkzee possibly leaving alongside Højlund. As United have signed Wolves striker Cunha and continue to chase Brentford forward Mbeumo and others.
It is reported that Inter Milan are considering signing Manchester United striker Højlund this summer. After their 0-5 thrashing by Paris in this season's Champions League final, the Serie A giants are planning a rebuild this summer.
Højlund has been United's first-choice striker this season, but his performances have been disappointing. In 32 Premier League appearances, the Danish forward has scored just four goals. In his two seasons at Old Trafford, he has made 95 appearances in total but only scored 26 goals.
Therefore, with United manager Amorim eager to strengthen the attacking line this summer, both Højlund and Zirkzee could leave to free up space for signings and raise crucial funds. Since Højlund joined United from Serie A side Atalanta for £64 million, he has faced criticism, though Italian clubs remain interested in bringing him back to Italy.
United's attacking rebuild has already begun in this transfer window, with Wolves striker Cunha joining for £62.5 million. Meanwhile, the Red Devils also have a strong interest in Brentford forward Mbeumo. The 25-year-old is also keen to join the club, but negotiations with Brentford have just started.
Cunha is expected to play in the number 10 position, and while Mbeumo can operate in the number 10 role, he can also fill the central striker position. United may also consider signing another forward, especially if Højlund or Zirkzee leave.
