Milan City Government officially approved the resolution to sell the San Siro Stadium and its surrounding area to FC Internazionale Milano and AC Milan today. This resolution will need to be submitted to the city council for a vote in the coming weeks.
Deputy Mayor Anna Scavuzzo announced the news at a press conference. She took over the relevant files in the past few weeks following Giancarlo Tancredi’s resignation.
The deputy mayor stated: “The city government expresses its approval for this proposal, which will be submitted to the committee and the city council. This is an important piece of work, and I would like to thank the city council for establishing a framework for us, enabling us to advance this process through continuous dialogue.”
This document will be discussed in the committee starting from Friday and then submitted to the plenary session of the city council for deliberation next week. The resolution was passed with only one dissenting vote, cast by Elena Grandi – her opposing stance aligns with that of her political party, the European Green Party.
