In the first phase of the UEFA Champions League, Marcus Rashford scored a brace in the second half, helping Barcelona claim a 2-1 away win over Newcastle United.
After the match, Rashford accepted an interview with Camel Live and said, “Playing for Barcelona is an amazing experience. I have always admired Barcelona a great deal. We want to win as many games as possible.”
“The fans want to see the team win and play good football. This is not an easy place to play. We were quite cautious in the first half, and it’s really tough to face a team like this. At that moment, I felt there was space, so I wanted to have a go at shooting. Their players tried to block me, so I attempted to lift the ball. I knew that the moment I hit the ball, it would be hard for the goalkeeper to make a save.”
“I’m 100% full of excitement and motivation, and I’m also very determined. Having so many high-quality players in the team makes me excited—it’s really a refreshing feeling to play with these players.”
When talking about head coach Hansi Flick, Rashford said, “He is a top coach and also a top manager.”
Speaking of the team’s Champions League target, he stated, "Our only goal is to win the title; there’s no other thought beyond that. We know how difficult this competition is."
