Local media reports state that the cathedral in Funchal, the capital of the island, has been reserved for the grand wedding next Saturday. Coincidentally, weddings here all start at 3 p.m.
The 41-year-old Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo grew up in Funchal. It is reported that he and 32-year-old model Georgina have booked the nearby five-star Savoy Palace Hotel as the wedding reception venue.
A source revealed: “The hotel has informed guests that two floors and several bar areas will be closed to the public on Friday and Saturday.”
