Bologna have officially announced the signing of Italian striker Ciro Immobile. According to previous media reports, the deal is a one-year contract with a clause allowing for an optional one-year extension.
Bologna's official announcement:
The club has secured the sporting services of Ciro Immobile, born in 1990, one of the finest forwards of his generation. He follows in the footsteps of many greats since Baggio and Signori, choosing to enjoy a brilliant second chapter with Bologna's Rossoblù, just like Gilardino, Di Vaio and, more recently, Palacio.
Since 2008, he has scored 201 goals in Serie A—an unmatched tally. Overall, he ranks as the 8th-highest goalscorer in Serie A history, having won the league's top scorer award four times, including a record 36 goals in the 2019-20 season. Two years ago, he also claimed the top scorer title in the Europa League.
A right-footed center forward capable of operating across the entire attacking line, Immobile developed in the youth academies of Sorrento and Juventus, rising to prominence during his seasons at Pescara and Torino. Later, he became a symbol of Lazio and their all-time top scorer, netting 169 goals in 270 appearances. His remarkable goalscoring efficiency earned him a European Golden Shoe.
