Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić [Eberl] has been informed that Liverpool have no intention of selling Luis Díaz this summer and will not enter transfer talks for the attacker. The 28-year-old Díaz was similarly courted by Barcelona earlier this summer, but the Premier League champions rebuffed those advances as well.
Liverpool have taken a firm stance, insisting Díaz will not be sold at any price this summer. Given his key contributions since joining from Porto in 2022, the club still views him as one of its pivotal players.
The Colombian international scored 22 goals for club and country last season, emerging as an indispensable part of Jürgen Klopp’s title-winning side. In the league, he netted 13 goals and provided 7 assists as Liverpool won the championship by a 10-point margin. Díaz has two years left on his Anfield contract; he drew interest from Manchester City last summer and Saudi Arabian clubs have also shown admiration. Regardless, the Colombian forward will not be available on the transfer market this summer.
Therefore, according to ESPN, Bayern have shifted focus to other left-wing targets, with Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford appearing on the club’s transfer shortlist. It is reported that Bayern executive Eberl highly admires the English forward, believing his arrival would serve as a vital attacking reinforcement.
Notably, La Liga’s Barcelona are also monitoring Rashford’s situation, and the winger has repeatedly expressed his desire to join the Catalan club.
